Your contribution to the Maynard Community Chest goes to local organizations that provide important human services to Maynard residents in the following categories:

(services include after-school care, child care, extracurricular activities, preschool programming, mentoring, summer and school vacation programs)
(services include legal assistance, support for persons with disabilities, crisis intervention, advocacy and mental health care)
(services include groceries and basic supplies on an as-neeed basis and community suppers)
(services include social gatherings, help with independent living, adult day care services and counseling)
The funds raised and distributed by the Maynard Community Chest benefit local charitable agencies providing a
broad range of human services to the Maynard community. This year*, the people benefitting from
Maynard Community Chest funds include:
- 67 Maynard residents served by the Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program, Court Intervention Project and/ or Lawyer For a Day programs of Domestic Violence Services of Central Middlesex
- 23 Maynard seniors in Cooperative Elder Services adult day health care program
- 165 Maynard residents received outpatient mental health and substance abuse services at The Eliot Center in Concord
- 189 Maynard students in kindergarten through 8th grade attending EXCEL programs
- 85% of the families receiving food assistance from the Maynard Food Pantry are from Maynard
- 388 seniors attend social activities and/or monthly meetings provided by the Maynard Senior Citizens’ Club
- 30 "Bigs" and "Littles" from Maynard involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program
- 142 Maynard residents receive disability services through programs of the Minute Man Arc for Human Services
- 900 Maynard youth participating in Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley programs
- 590 Maynard seniors and caregivers used services such as home care, Meals on Wheels, information and referral, health benefits counseling, money management assistance, elder protective services, respite care, inhome consultations for memory disorders and educational seminars offered by Minuteman Senior Services
- 45 - 55 people attend the community suppers offered by Open Table Maynard each Monday evening in Maynard
- 193 girls and 60 adult volunteers make up 23 Girl Scout troops in Maynard
- 180 Maynard boys involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Eagle Scout programs
- 125 low-income residents of Maynard received high-quality, free legal services from South Middlesex Legal Services
- 32 Maynard children enrolled in The Community School’s NAECP-accredited preschool program
- 46% of the people receiving food assistance from the Stow Food Pantry are from Maynard
